When you discover a way of doing a task or job that works, turn it into a good habit and let the whole crew know if you all agree. Like always keeping the tender keys in the same place so that everyone can find them in a hurry. Tying your cleats the same way every time, so you can quickly untie the lines someone else has tied in the dark, or washing the dishes efficiently, that doesn’t waste water, but still removes all the grease. Closing lockers as soon as you have retreived the item you were seeking, so the door won’t slam incesantly as the boat rocks or items fall out when heeling. If you do this when all is calm, it will continue to be a good habit when on a rough passage.
