That’s right, your kettle and toaster will need to be stowed into a locker when not in use, not left out on the counter top where they can become a projectile while on passage. Anything that can slide, move or rock will do so, when you are sailing, or just on the hook with a swell, so make sure everything is very secure, every time you set sail.
We use a bungee and hooks to secure our coffee machine on the counter, as it would make too much mess loading it into a locker every time our boat rocks, and foam wedges in the bar storage to stop the incessant clinking noise from lose bottles.
